A girls trip Guide to Barcelona

So, in July a few of my friends and I took a girls trip to Barcelona which was actually my second time in the city!

Now as per usual we were super last minute when it when it came to planning our days to make the most out of our 4 day stay!

With that in mind I thought I’d put together a mini girls trip guide to Barcelona with some of my favourite places based on the visits I’ve had so far, which will hopefully come in useful if any you take a trip there in there future.

Where to stay

Capri by Fraser- when booked in advance Capri by Fraser was super affordable and perfectly situated a walking distance from the Nova Icaria Beach (where large number of restaurants, bar and clubs are). It’s also 5 minutes away from Marina metro station on the L1 line which passes through central areas such as Arc de Triomf, Catalunya and España . The rooms have a beautiful simplistic interior design, come with a mini kitchenette area and were super clean! I’d actually never heard of the Hotel chain until this year, but will definitely be revisiting after my recent experience!

Places to eat

A few places to check out include:

For Brunch

The Firebug near Arc de Triomf

For Lunch

Pasta market near Las Ramblas for fresh pasta from €5.90

Bacoa Burger near Barcelonetta Beach

For Dinner

La Foga near Arc de Triomf

La Tocca, near Nova Icaria beach for some great Tapas

Where to find Evian or Smart water:

If you’re a water snob like me, and have a complex when it comes to the taste of the water you drink, then this is for you! The best places to look for your perfect tasting water will be street kiosks and corner shops/off licences! As much as we hunted, actual supermarkets didn’t seem to stock them and had much less variety to choose from.

Bars/Clubs

Be sure to visit the Ice bar at Nova Icaria beach for some really nice cocktails, and Shoko and Patcha are a must for the best music!

As with many places that have clubs and bars  there are always promoters after your money, so just be very careful, an avoid the men selling wrist bands for club nights along Baracelonetta beach towards Nova Icaria.

Planning you days:

On my most recent trip we were able fit it quite a lot of sight seeing over 4 days, here’s how we planed out time to help you plan yours:

DAY 1

1.The Gothic quarter

2. Santa Maria del Mar

3. Mercado de la Boqueria – don’t leave without getting yourself a tasty fruit smoothie.

4.Arc de Triomf

5. Barcelona Cathedral

6. Santa Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera

7. La Sagrada Familia

Day 2

1.Cable Carts to Montjuic Castle

2. Joan Miró museum

3. Olympic museum and stadium

4. Magic Fountain of Montjuic evening show – this is not to be missed so make sure it’t on your to do list for one of your evenings

Day 3

1.Bunkers de Carmel

2. Park Güell – don’t forget to book your tickets in advance!

We also tried to visit the Picaso museum on this day as it’s free entry on Thursday evenings, but we failed to realise that still actually needed to book tickets! Book way in advance because they seem to sell out super fast!

Day 4

1. La Barcelonetta beach

2.Catalunya
